Fall is upon us and, with it, October brings Cybersecurity Awareness Month. We continue to integrate technology into every facet of our lives and with that, we need to be ever more vigilant in not just our cyber awareness but also of the rest of our family, friends, work, and environment in general. Below are some tips for beginning and maintaining a successful cybersecurity plan for everything around you:
Maritime organizations are becoming targets for cyber-attacks for many reasons, such as their growing information technology and operational technology complexity and their role as hubs for data from shipping lines, trucking, logistics, and off-dock storage providers.
On April 20th, it was announced that the U.S. Government was directing the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Department of Energy, and the electricity industry to conduct a 100-day sprint in which they will address critical risks to the U.S. power grid. It, “represents swift, aggressive actions to confront cyber threats from adversaries who seek to compromise critical systems that are essential to U.S. national and economic security,” according to the announcement.
Now you might ask yourself “Is this 2010?” since we are talking about Jailbreaking and Rooting phones. The answer is no, but it could be increasing in popularity again for everyday users to begin opening up mobile devices to dangerous third-party stores and applications after by-passing manufacturer’s security settings.
