Our Timeline: From AI Research to Operational Impact

2007

  • Established IntelliGenesis through our first contract supporting the NSA AI Lab
  • Supported the DoD’s early development of cutting-edge AI tools: Bayesian nets, ARTMAPS, Neural Networks, Markov Models, Natural Language Processing
  • Pioneered the development and integration of Big Data Analytics in SIGINT & Cyber missions for Pattern of Life, Unstructured Data Analysis, and Phoneme Similarity
  • Enhanced anomaly detection and pattern recognition capabilities at enterprise-scale

2010

  • Began funding custom IRAD projects, beginning with agglomerative clustering and genetic algorithms for entity disambiguation
  • Extended research on Pattern of Life analysis in combination with entity disambiguation to perform social media analytics and trend analysis

2019

  • Won our first two funded SBIR/STTR research awards from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Air Force Research Lab (AFRL)
  • Began unclassified development of two new capabilities:
    • RIALTO – AI-based prediction engine using Recommender Systems to provide advanced warning of which TTPs an advanced persistent threat may use next (e.g., Phishing, Man in the Middle, Access Token Manipulation, Network Sniffing, etc.)
    • WATCHTOWER – AI-based military/Veteran suicide-prevention tool using novel data sources and combined risk assessment approaches such as Decision Trees, Neural Network Time Series Event risk scores, Sentiment Analysis, and Occupation Change Variables to predict servicemembers at risk

2020

  • Won another SBIR award from Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO)
  • Began prototype development of our CYBERSPAN® product, an AI-based anomaly detection and cyber threat attribution platform combining supervised and unsupervised learning models across multiple data sources and modalities: network traffic packet, device, and time-based clusters; regression models; NLP and decision tree classification models; extreme gradient boost (XGBoost) forecasting model; IP geolocation; and mapping malicious network traffic to known MITRE ATT&CK TTPs

2021

  • Expanded our IR&D capabilities through build out of IG Labs®, giving customers access to mission-focused AI/ML development, big data processing resources, hardware fabrication tools, and hands-on training for full-lifecycle development and deployment of cutting edge technologies
  • Formed a key partnership with NVIDIA and integrated a DGX A100-powered Deep Learning Pod into IG Labs to accelerate AI/ML model training and data processing in secure development, testing, and integration enclaves

2023

  • Opened a second IG Labs location in Texas, bringing advanced IRAD capabilities and resources to the Capital Factory at Port San Antonio
  • Expanded CYBERSPAN’s footprint by deploying 20+ onprem and cloud-based virtual servers to small and medium DIBs

2024

  • Won a SBIR from US Space Force to develop KrakenAI, a scalable GenAI/LLM decision-making support tool tailored for cybersecurity operations
  • Conducted a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with DISA for TerminationCode, a LLM capability and tool pipeline to enhance SOC operators’ abilities and support DISA security operations
  • Began development of APEX, a custom LLM trained on FAR and DFAR regulations to provide decision-making support and expedite Federal acquisitions and contracting tasks

2025

  • Productized and launched CYBERSPAN for commercial sales
  • Won a SBIR from the US Army to develop AEGIS SHIELD, a GenAI platform that automates development and deployment of AI models that address and adapt to emerging cyber threats
  • Established IntelliCademy™ to develop and deliver AI/ML and cyber tradecraft training and certifications, including AI/ML Specialist Certification
  • Began internal development of DryDock, a plan-and-execute style LLM to analyze Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) and generate security assessments for virtualized containers

2026

  • Expanded IG Labs TX AI/ML development capabilities with Dell Pro Max GB10s capable of performing up to 1 PFLOP (1 quadrillion operations/second)
  • Developed REDEYE, an Agentic AI Autonomous Cyber Operator (ACO) to automate offensive/defensive cyber operations and workflows at machine-speed while maintaining human-on-the-loop (HOTL) oversight
